Broome County Executive Highlights Opportunities for National Make a Difference Day

BINGHAMTON, NYSaturday, October 28th is National Make a Difference Day. In celebration, volunteers across the country will work together to improve their communities.  In recognition of this event, the Broome County Executive highlighted opportunities to volunteer at the Broome County Dog Shelter.

“There are so many opportunities to volunteer here at the dog shelter,” Said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. “Even just coming by for a few minutes to walk and play with the dogs can be a huge help to the employees.”

The dog shelter is open regularly Monday – Friday 10 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. However, as part of National Make a Difference Day, the shelter will be open on Saturday from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. for an open house where residents can spend time with the animals and maybe make a new four-legged friend.

Volunteers are needed seven days a week to ensure the regular operation and care for the animals. To be a part of the Broome County Dog Shelter click this link for a volunteer application.
